The beginning of March can still be cold. If you are a fan of hot cider, try sweetening with Brer Rabbit Molasses instead of sugar. The result is a hot drink with just the right amount of sweetness.

February 2015- Beverage Suggestion

Just because it is winter, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a cold beverage. Make a molasses ice cream float using Brer Rabbit. Whisk 1/3 cup Brer Rabbit Molasses, 1 tsp. ground ginger, ½ tsp. cinnamon and ½ tsp. allspice until well combined. Drizzle mixture into glasses. Place vanilla ice cream into a glass and top with cream soda.

July 2014- Tasty Teriyaki

Are you a fan of teriyaki sauce on your meat? Try making your own! Combine 2/3 cup soy sauce, 2 tsp. dry mustard, 2 tsp. ground ginger, 1 tsp. finely chopped garlic and 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion. Mix in 4 Tbsp. Brer Rabbit Molasses and 1/3 cup olive oil.

June 2014- Summertime Fun

Become a master BBQ chef by creating your own barbecue sauce! Cook 1 chopped onion in 2 Tbsp. of margarine until tender.  Add 8 oz. tomato sauce, ¼ cup Brer Rabbit Molasses, 3 Tbsp. lemon juice, 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar and ¼ tsp. ground cloves. Let simmer 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!

Savory Chicken Barbecue Sauce

May 2014- Scrumptious Breakfast

Need a new breakfast treat? Sticky Buns are great with coffee in the morning. In a bowl, combine ½ cup chopped pecans, 1/3 cup brown sugar, ¼ cup melted butter, ¼ cup Brer Rabbit Molasses, 1 3 oz. package vanilla cook & serve pudding, 1 Tbsp. milk and 1 tsp. cinnamon.  Slice 1 pound frozen white bread dough (thawed) into 1 inch rounds. Arrange in a lightly greased baking pan; pour molasses mixture over bread. Let sit overnight in refrigerator.  Bake 350F for 30 minutes or until golden.

April 2014- Homemade Dressing

Try a new homemade dressing on your salad at dinner. Blend 2 cups chopped red onion, ½ cup canola oil, 1/3 cup lemon juice, 1/3 cup Brer Rabbit Blackstrap Molasses, 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar, 2 tsp. coriander and ½ tsp. salt & pepper, until blended well. Enjoy!

March 2014- Dinner Tip

Create delicious pork chops the whole family will enjoy! In a saucepan, heat 2 Tbsp. olive oil and 2 Tbsp. of finely chopped shallots until golden brown. Add  ¼ cup Brer Rabbit Molasses, 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard and 1 Tbsp. Regina Red Wine Vinegar  and reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Season pork chops with salt and pepper and brush with molasses glaze. Broil until done to your liking. Enjoy!
